Sophia's Angels ("we") is a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 81-2905256), 13661 Hubbard St, Sylmar, CA 91342. This policy covers sophiasangels.org, our pages at sophiasangel.com, our forms, phone line, text messages, emails and our member community. Last updated: November 2026.

What we collect

  • When you ask for help or join our free course: your name and email (required), and your phone, mailing address and the hospital name. The form also has an optional question where you can describe your child's diagnosis; you can leave it blank, and a general description is enough. We also record whether you agreed to receive texts, and your time zone.
  • When you donate: your name, email, phone, the amount and any message. Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal (including Venmo through PayPal). We never see or store your full card number.
  • When you buy a book: your contact, shipping and order details. Payment is handled by Stripe or PayPal.
  • When you join our member community: your account details and your activity in the course and community.
  • When you call or text us: your phone number, your messages, any voicemail you leave, and a written summary of calls answered by our AI assistant. If a call is recorded, you will be told at the start of the call.
  • Automatically: basic technical data (such as IP address, browser and pages visited) and cookies used by our website platform to run the site and its forms.

How we use it

To give the support, course access and comfort items you ask for; to process and receipt donations and orders; to send updates you agreed to; to improve our programs; and to meet legal and tax obligations.

Your child's health information

What you tell us about your child's health is used only to support your family.

  • Where it is kept: in our contact records with HighLevel (our website, forms and contact system).
  • Who sees it: people who work with Sophia's Angels and have access to those records. When you submit our help form, our founder and our CEO receive a text-message alert with your name and contact details so they can reach you quickly. Alerts sent before November 7, 2026 also included the hospital name and the diagnosis description.
  • Phone calls: if you mention a health matter to our AI phone assistant, it may appear in the written call summary, which is saved in our records and emailed to our team.
  • What we never do: we never sell it, and we never send it to Meta, Google or any other advertising or social media company. It is not published in our member community.
  • Deletion: you can ask us to delete it at any time (see "Your choices").

Text messages

If you opt in, we text you from (818) 740-5001. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We do not share your mobile number or text-message consent with anyone for their marketing.

Automated assistants

Calls to (818) 740-5001 and our text messages may be answered by AI assistants, including Angelica, Sophia's Angels' AI phone assistant. Information from our AI assistants is not medical, legal or counseling advice, and you don't need to share medical details with them. To reach a person, call (818) 362-8677 or email [email protected]. In an emergency, call 911. For emotional crisis support, call or text 988.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it with:

  • Service providers that run our systems for us: HighLevel / LeadConnector (website, forms, contact records, email, phone and text messaging), managed for us by Backbone Business AI; Google Workspace (email); Stripe and PayPal (payments).
  • Meta (Facebook), for measurement only. We may send Meta a record that someone in our contact list visited our main donation page, together with contact details such as their email address and phone number in hashed form, plus technical details of the visit. Hashing turns each detail into a fixed code before it is sent. Meta can use that code to match the visit to a Facebook or Instagram account, so it is not anonymous. We do this to measure our Facebook outreach. We never send Meta form answers, donation amounts or any health information. Meta handles this information under its own policies.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails (link in each email) or texts (reply STOP), or ask us to see, correct or delete your information by emailing [email protected]. California residents have additional rights under California law, which we honor.

Children

Our website is for parents, caregivers and supporters, not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Information about a child comes only from a parent or guardian.

Security and retention

Only people who work with Sophia's Angels, and the service providers listed above, can access your information, and only to run our programs. We use reasonable safeguards. We do not yet have a fixed deletion schedule: we keep information while it is needed to support your family or meet our legal and tax obligations. When you ask us to delete your information, we delete your contact record in our systems and ask our team to delete any alerts or emails about you, unless the law requires us to keep something.

Our website, course and resources are for information and comfort. They do not replace medical advice from your child's care team. Donations are voluntary and tax-deductible as allowed by law.
